These terms govern your use of Sam. By using Sam, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
What Sam Is (and Isn't)
Sam is a conversational AI designed to help you think through what's on your mind. Sam is a thinking partner, not a replacement for professional services.
Important Limitations
- •Not therapy or medical advice. Sam is not a licensed therapist, counselor, or medical professional. Do not use Sam as a substitute for professional mental health care.
- •Not for emergencies. If you're in crisis or having thoughts of self-harm, please contact a crisis helpline or emergency services immediately.
- •AI limitations. Sam is an AI and can make mistakes, misunderstand context, or provide responses that don't fit your situation.
Your Account
You can use Sam without an account (free tier with limitations) or create an account for the full experience.
- •You must be at least 18 years old to use Sam.
- •You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.
- •One account per person. Don't share accounts or create multiple accounts.
Subscriptions & Payments
Sam offers a subscription service for $12.99/month. Here's how it works:
- •Billing: Subscriptions are billed monthly. Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel.
- •Cancellation: You can cancel anytime. You'll retain access until the end of your current billing period.
- •Refunds: We generally don't offer refunds for partial months, but we'll consider reasonable requests.
- •Price changes: We may change prices with 30 days notice. Existing subscribers keep their current rate until their next renewal.
Acceptable Use
Please use Sam respectfully. Don't:
- •Try to manipulate or "jailbreak" Sam
- •Use Sam for illegal purposes
- •Attempt to access other users' data
- •Abuse the free tier (e.g., creating multiple accounts to avoid payment)
- •Use automated systems to interact with Sam at scale
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these guidelines.
Your Content
What you share in conversations with Sam remains yours. We don't claim ownership of your content. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your data.
Disclaimer of Warranties
Sam is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee that Sam will be available 100% of the time, that responses will always be helpful or accurate, or that the service will meet your specific needs.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we're not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Sam. Our total liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the past 12 months.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you via email or through the service. Continued use after changes means you accept the new terms.
